(Click here for General Information on IIEI Certifications)

Registration for Industry Certification Examination: The various certifications are recognized worldwide as the professional standard of achievement of those serving within the international trade community.

Important Information

Fee Structure: Within each category, the testing fee varies depending on the certification level, the country of residence of the person taking the examination. The fee structure is reviewed each December. Any changes in fees will be announced in the next issues of DSU publications and on-line at the International Import-Export Institute’s or IIEI Certification’s  website as deemed appropriate by IIEI Certification. For each certification examination, there is Application Fee in addition to the required test fee. It is now included within each certification test fee.

Test Site Selection: Any industry examination can be proctored at any approved test location worldwide. Generally, test sites are colleges and universities located near where the examinee lives or works. See test policies for additional information. To select or recommend a site, simply fill out and submit the Test Site Application online. Our staff will make all the arrangements.

Acceptable IIEI Certification Examination Proctors:

Like all Approved Providers, Dunlap-Stone University can proctor your test at our offices in Phoenix, Arizona, irregardless of where you received your exam preparation or training.  However, if it can also be proctored by one of the following approved sources:

  • Authorized College or University Testing Center
  • Approved Independent Testing provider—a Sylvan Learning Center or similar
  • Sponsoring Company’s Human Resource Department or other approved department
  • Approved Training Providers (Worldwide)

If you are unable to locate a proctor in one of the categories listed above, please contact the IIEI Certification for additional suggestions. We recognize that you know your area far better than anyone else. With certification students across the globe, we regret that we cannot locate proctors for each student. IIEI  Certification reserves the right to approve or deny any proctor location.

Proctor Fees (Effective May 12, 2008):

Because of the variability and increase of fees charged by proctors, there has been a change in policy. As of the date shown above, Test Proctor Fees, if any, are now the responsibility of the individual sitting for the examination or their sponsoring company. Generally, a person’s employer reimburses this fee if a company representative or other authorized internal agent is not able to proctor the test. Check with your employer regarding their policy. Please note that the Test Application Fee does not include the Proctor Fee. It pays for costs related to administering tests including, shipping the tests to and from testing sites.

Certification Exam Course Requirements: Test takers may sit for a certification exam without completing the suggested course of study at Dunlap-Stone University.

IIEI Certification requires our school to publish the following:

An individual may petition the for a waiver for any and/or all courses in order to sit for an exam based upon work and life experience. Students should forward their resume and a letter detailing how their work experience meets the learning objectives for each course required for the certification exam in question. Petitions should be submitted at least 60 days before the desired test date. The certification department will evaluate your experience, knowledge and skills to give an indicator as to whether we believe they have a reasonable expectation of passing the exam. Most waiver determinations are made within 30 days. Waivers are granted at the discretion of the certification department and all decisions are final.

Students who choose to sit for the exam without completing the requisite coursework or without the award of waivers are welcome to sit for the exam. However, unlike those who have completed the courses or who have received waivers, if they do not pass any portion of the exam, they cannot retake the exam without completing all of the suggested coursework.
